President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov in a next interview with Kabar state news agency told about preachers and their clothing.
«Sadyr Nurgozhoevich, some social media users were offended by your words. They write that the head of state called the Ulemas ignorant and opposes daavat (preaching Islam). What were you talking about then?» a journalist asked.
According to the president, there are citizens who try to distort his words and put him in a bad light. During the reception of the mufti, he suggested paying attention to the preachers’ clothes.
«One should draw on one’s own national traditions, not adopt the traditions of other countries and send at least preachers who have graduated from madrassas or Islamic universities to daavat. I often receive people from all regions of the republic. In the past I met with one teacher. He spoke about these preachers. «Several people came to our village to conduct daavat. They were dressed in long loose gowns, their clothes were dirty, their education was 11 grades, and they had beards up to their waists. I am a teacher myself. I had worked as a school principal for many years, and my knowledge of religion surpasses theirs. And they’re going to teach me? I shamed them. It would be good if you would pay attention to this matter. Seeing this, some citizens who follow another religion hate ours,» Sadyr Japarov quoted the teacher as saying.
The head of state added that he supports daavat, his father is moldo and azhy.
«It would be good if we could send to daavat those who are neatly dressed, with neatly trimmed beard, have knowledge, ready to answer any questions about Islam. Then our people will believe the preachers, listen attentively and follow them. The Mufti also supported this view. In the past, the Ulemas (daavatchi) not only taught religion but also science, including various languages. Let us follow the way of ancient Ulemas, explaining that religion goes together with education and science,» Sadyr Japarov stressed.
