Three citizens of Kyrgyzstan kidnapped a citizen of Uzbekistan in the center of St. Petersburg (Russia) and extorted money from him under threat of violence. The press service of the Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast reported.
According to its data, a 19-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan appealed to the police with a statement. He told law enforcers that three unknown persons forcibly put him in a taxi and, threatening him with a gun, extorted money. The frightened young man transferred 20,000 rubles to the attackers.
A 29-year-old Kyrgyz man who works as a taxi driver was detained on suspicion of committing the crime, and two more of his accomplices, also citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic, were also identified and detained later.
A criminal case has been opened.
