Regional resource center for Scopus database opened at Osh State University

A Scopus Research Hub resource center for the southern region of Kyrgyzstan has been opened at the Osh State University. The press service of the Ministry of Education and Science reported.

The resource center will conduct consulting work with universities about Scopus, workshops on academic writing, modern scientific resources, and develop recommendations for the participation of universities of the Kyrgyz Republic in the selection for international rankings.

Teachers from universities in the southern region can use the services of the Scopus Research Hub resource center.

The ministry recalled that on September 8, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Consortium of Universities of Kyrgyzstan and Elsevier B.V. Seventeen universities included in the consortium are connected to the international Scopus scientometric database.

Scopus is a unified bibliographic and abstract database of peer-reviewed scientific literature, created in 2004 by the academic publishing house Elsevier. Access to the database is provided through an institutional subscription. All periodicals included in Scopus are reviewed by the Content Advisory Board. At the same time, publications are required to maintain the high quality of their publications — they are checked annually to ensure compliance with the minimum required indicators of the H-index, CiteScore, SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), Source Normalized Impact per Paper (SNIP).
