60 million soms allocated for creation of electronic database of medicines

At least 60 million soms were allocated from the budget for implementation of the second stage of Electronic Database of Medicines information system. Press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.

The Health Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev met yesterday with representatives of the Turkish companyTCHEALTH Information Technologies, which is implementing this information system.

Executive Director of the company Salih Guresh told what was planned at the second stage:

  • Digitalization of all processes and procedures of the Department of Medicines and Medical Products for prompt filling of reference books and classifiers of the first stage;
  • Introduction of the national system for traceability of medicines and medical products based on labeling;
  • Implementation of inventory control in organizations of the Ministry of Health;
  • Development of a mobile application for the population.

The Minister of Health noted the importance of digitalization to control the quality of medicines for Kyrgyzstan. «By the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, 60 million soms were allocated from the republican budget for the implementation of the second stage. We hope that introduction of the system will be completed in the near future,» Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said.

The ministry noted that the development of the project Electronic Database of Medicines and Medical Products of the Kyrgyz Republic information system is divided into three stages. At the first stage, the Turkish company TCHEALTH Information Technologies developed international reference books and classifiers of medicines and medical products, as well as carried out integration with the state procurement portal. The first stage of the project was funded by the World Bank.

At the second stage, it is planned to introduce a national system of traceability of medicines and medical products based on labeling. Integration with the information systems of the Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund, introduction of artificial intelligence algorithms in the electronic processing of information of the ministry, development of electronic prescriptions are planned at the third stage.
