There is a call for humanity in all works of Chingiz Aitmatov. Nurlanbek Shakiev, Speaker of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, said at the International Conference dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the great writer Chingiz Aitmatov.
He noted that the work of Chingiz Aitmatov is an inexhaustible treasury, a boundless epic.
In general, Chingiz Aitmatov’s works glorify high human qualities and moral purity. «When will the son of man become a Man?» — all plots in the writer’s works are devoted to the search for an answer to this key question.

The speaker noted that it is no coincidence that the 95th anniversary of the great writer is celebrated within the framework of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Assembly of the CIS in Bishkek.
«Chingiz Aitmatov was actively involved and participated in social and political work, was elected a deputy of several convocations of the Supreme Council of the multinational USSR and the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz SSR. In this regard, in 2012, on the initiative of the Parliament, the Chingiz Aitmatov Prize of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States was established. It is awarded annually for achievements in the field of literature, outstanding original works and multifaceted literary activity,» Nurlanbek Shakiev said.
By the decision of the IPA CIS Council, the next Chingiz Aitmatov Prize will be awarded to Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of Philological Sciences, researcher of Chingiz Aitmatov’s work, Professor Abdyldazhan Akmataliev.
