Inflow of remittances into Kyrgyzstan grows by $18.5 million for month

In September 2023, migrants transferred $174.4 million to Kyrgyzstan, which is $18.5 million more than a month earlier. The National Bank provided such data.

Compared to September 2022, the amount decreased 1.7 times, or by $117.5 million. Russia accounts for the largest part of the remittances — $159.8 million. At least $8.6 million was transferred to the Kyrgyz Republic from other states, and $2.9 million — from the USA. In total, in January — September 2023, compatriots transferred $ 1,437.6 billion to the country. This is 35 percent or $774 million less than in 2022.

According to the results of September, there was also an outflow of funds of $35.2 million. Over the month, the indicator decreased by $2.9 million. Compared to September 2022, the figure decreased 4.8 times or by $135.2 million. The main part of the money was transferred to Russia ($32.3 million). In total, $360.1 million was transferred from the country for nine months of 2023, which is $419.2 million less than last year.

The net inflow of remittances into Kyrgyzstan as a result of January — September 2023 amounted to $1,077.3 billion. This is $354.7 million, or 24.7 percent less than the level of nine months of 2022.

At year-end 2022, the volume of money transfers to the republic amounted to $2,928.2 billion. $1,200.7 billion was transferred from Kyrgyzstan to other countries. Net inflow was $1,727.5 billion.
