New mayor of Bishkek holds first meeting with delegation from China

The mayor of the capital of Kyrgyzstan, Aibek Dzhunushaliev, met with the delegation from Guangzhou (PRC) headed by the Director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People’s Congress, Wang Yanshi. The press service of the Bishkek City Hall reported.

The parties discussed the importance of developing mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation with the sister city of Guangzhou. Aibek Dzhunushaliev congratulated him on the 20th anniversary of the establishment of sister city ties between Bishkek and Guangzhou.

The mayor noted interest in developing fruitful mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in the implementation of joint projects for social, cultural and humanitarian development, as well as the exchange of experience in the field of urban planning, transport and other areas of urban life. He expressed hope for the successful implementation of the landscaping project in the exchange of experience in the field of green improvement of the city. Wang Yanshi thanked for the warm welcome and invited the mayor of the capital to visit Guangzhou.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for further development and deepening of bilateral cooperation between the administrations of the sister cities of Bishkek and Guangzhou.

The City Hall recalled that the agreement on establishing sister city relations between the cities of Bishkek and Guangzhou was signed on December 1, 2003.
