The Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan plans to ban the operation of slot machines, betting offices and betting pools outside casinos. The corresponding bill was posted on the website of the Parliament.
The Ministry of Economy and Commerce proposes to amend the Law on Gambling Activities in the Kyrgyz Republic. The document was developed to ensure the concentration of types of gambling activities in one place.
According to the draft law, the slot machine halls, betting offices and betting pools should be located in the gaming area or in a separate room of the casino. In this case, the casino and the slot machine hall will be considered one gaming area with one owner.
The adoption of the draft law will improve the efficiency of state regulation and supervision of the activities of gambling organizers.
«In addition, this will help to avoid increase in the number of separately operating different types of gambling establishments (casinos, bookmakers and betting shops), which could cause a negative public response among citizens of the republic,» the background statement says.
