«By April 1, 2024, we plan to have 7 billion cubic meters of water in Toktogul reservoir,» Energy Minister of Kyrgyzstan Taalaibek Ibraev said at a press conference.
According to him, as of September 11, 2023, the volume of water in the Toktogul reservoir is 11,517 billion cubic meters. By October 1, it is expected to be around 11.7 billion cubic meters. By the end of the heating season, the figure will be around 7 billion cubic meters. This is 800 million cubic meters less than on April 1, 2023.
«You yourself know very well that there is a low-water period everywhere. This year, what we planned did not happen. The inflow now is only 93 percent of the norm,» the Minister of Energy said.
