Uzbekistan ranks first among trade partners of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergei Glazyev said.
According to him, close interaction between the EEC and Uzbekistan leads to practical results associated with the growth of trade and economic cooperation. Since the formation of the EAEU, trade turnover with Uzbekistan has tripled and this country accounts for almost half of the total volume of EAEU foreign trade with the CIS countries.
According to the EEC, only for 2021 the trade turnover of the Union with Uzbekistan increased by almost a third compared to the same period of the previous year and reached $11.2 billion. Including exports grew by 17.9 percent, imports — by 39.1 percent.
