The first meeting of the organizing committee for holding the People’s Kurultai was held in Bishkek. Press service of the President reported.
Under the chairmanship of the Secretary of State of the Kyrgyz Republic, it was attended by representatives of the administration of the head of state, presidential envoys to the regions, ministers, mayors of the cities of Bishkek and Osh, as well as public figures.
The procedure for electing delegates from ethnic public associations and associations of labor migrants abroad has been approved.
Suyunbek Kasmambetov recalled that the main task of the organizing committee is the organization of the Kurultai, and not interference in politics.
The Law on the People’s Kurultai was adopted by the Parliament on June 29, 2023. It defines the legal status of the forum, the principles of its activities and the procedure for election of delegates.
