Marsel Islamkulov is a native of Kant city. He started his career in the clubs of the Kyrgyz Republic, then moved to Kazakhstan, where he played for FC Astana-1964, Baikonur and Kaisar. At the beginning of 2023, he started playing for Abdysh-Ata (Kant).
In 2017-2018, Marcel Islamkulov was called up to the Kazakhstan’s national team, but he never took the field.
In July 2023, Marsel Islamkulov took the first place in the top 5 goalkeepers of the Championship of Kyrgyzstan among Premier League teams in the clean sheet.
