The Prosecutor’s Office of Bishkek initiates liquidation of Kloop Media Public Foundation, which is better known as Kloop.kg website. 24.kg news agency has at its disposal the corresponding statement of claim of the city’s supervisory body sent to the Oktyabrsky District Court on August 22, 2023.
The document states that the Internet portal Kloop.kg works within the framework of Kloop Media Public Foundation registered with the Ministry of Justice in 2006. The materials published on the website and on social media are aimed at sharp criticism of the policy of the current government.
«Moreover, most of the publications are of a negative nature aimed at discrediting representatives of state and municipal bodies. On November 2, 2021, pre-trial proceedings were registered with regard to the publications of Kloop.Media on the fact of public calls for seizure of power. As a result of the analysis, a number of publications were collected, and expert examinations were scheduled. According to the conclusion of forensic-psychological-psychiatric expertise dated November 11, 2022, the publications of Kloop.Media contain hidden manipulation of public opinion, which is imposed negative processes that do not correspond to reality, and create opposition to any undertakings of the current government,» the claim says.
The prosecutor also cites several headlines and materials of Kloop.kg, which, according to the supervisory body, sharply criticize the authorities.
The supervisory body also accuses the public foundation of concealing a large sum of money.
The Prosecutor General’s Office confirmed to 24.kg news agency the information that a statement of claim was filed with the Oktyabrski District Court of the capital. It is under consideration.
Kloop Media Foundation itself does not comment on the situation.
