Kyrgyzstan is considering the issue of electricity supplies from Belarus. The Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibrayev said during a meeting of the CIS Energy Council. MIR 24 TV channel reports.
The minister noted that Belarus would soon launch the second block of the nuclear power plant. They have a surplus of electricity.
«We will talk about transportation of electricity to other countries, to us, to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan,» Taalaibek Ibraev said.
Russian Energy Minister Nikolai Shulginov noted that the energy systems of the Commonwealth countries are interconnected, some of them work synchronously and provide assistance to each other in emergency situations.
«I am sure that the issues that we plan to discuss today will be useful in shaping the energy policy of all countries participating in today’s meeting,» he concluded.
To date, Kyrgyzstan imports electricity from Turkmenistan, Russia and Kazakhstan.
