Former president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev is in Spain, he will have three more surgeries. The leader of the Social Democrats Temirlan Sultanbekov told Kaktus.media.
According to him, the former head of state will return to Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, Sultanbekov noted that Almazbek Atambayev does not intend to return to politics, «only if he is not forced to do it.»
Former president of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev was released from prison on February 14. It became known that the criminal case against him for the illegal release of the crime boss Aziz Batukayev was sent for a new review. The Supreme Court canceled the previous sentences. The former head of state was also allowed to leave the country for medical treatment.
He had been in custody since August 2019 (during the October 2020 events he was released for a few days and then detained again). On February 15, Almazbek Atambayev left for Dubai with his son Kadyr.
