An explosion occurred at an optical industry enterprise in Sergiev Posad city, Russia, on Wednesday. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, there are no citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic among the victims.
Emergency services extinguished the fires at the explosion site within a day. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic continues to monitor the situation.
Explosion occurred in Sergiev Posad on the territory of Zagorsk Optical — Mechanical Plant on August 9. According to the official version, it was caused by a «human factor». As a result, one person died and 60 were injured.
According to the Investigative Committee, the explosion occurred at the pyrotechnic warehouse of Piro-Ross company, which rented premises at the plant. Investigators conducted searches at Piro-Ross and detained the technical director of the company as part of a criminal case on violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities (Article 217 of the Criminal Code).
