The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, as part of a working trip to Osh region, got acquainted with the progress of the capital reconstruction of the stadium named after Akhmatbek Suyumbaev in Osh city. Press service of the head of state reported.
The stadium was built in 1961, and over the 62 years of operation, only partial repairs were carried out in it. The capital reconstruction of the facility is being carried out for the first time and started in May 2023.
President Sadyr Japarov instructed to allocate additional funding and complete the reconstruction of the stadium in the near future.
The head of state noted that measures to modernize the sports facility should be continued and in the future it is necessary to work out a project for a covered structure, as well as improve the condition of the running tracks so that the stadium meets the requirements of a modern multifunctional sports complex.
To date, the Osh stadium hosts international football matches and various events for the citizens. To improve the conditions, as part of the reconstruction at the stadium, 11,000 seats will be renovated, locker rooms and shower rooms for football players will be overhauled in accordance with the requirements of the Asian Football Confederation.
