Kanykei, the daughter of Ravshan Dzheenbekov, who was arrested on suspicion of preparing mass riots to seize power, recorded a video message in English to the embassies of foreign countries and international organizations accredited in Kyrgyzstan and posted it on Instagram.
Kanykei Ravshan noted that very difficult times had come for her family. Parents — Salkynai Alimbaeva and Ravshan Dzheenbekov are under arrest in a pre-trial detention center. She added that her family members became victims of political persecution. Due to systematic pressure, her brothers and sisters had to leave the country.
«And now the President Sadyr Japarov and the head of the State Committee for National Security Kamchybek Tashiev decided to torture my father using his family. My mom has nothing to do with politics. The only thing she has ever done was support her husband as any wife would and raise her children as any mother would. She’s in prison right now. And I am very worried about my mother’s health. Because the conditions in Kyrgyzstan, the conditions in prisons are awful,» Kanykei Ravshan said.
Addressing diplomats and human rights activists, she asked to pay attention to the criminal cases against her parents and the situation in Kyrgyzstan.
Salkyn Alimbaeva, wife of ex-deputy of Parliament Ravshan Dzheenbekov, was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security. She is suspected of corruption.
