Kyrgyzstan deports anti-war activist to Russia

Kyrgyzstan deported to Russia a military activist Aleksey Rozhkov, who set a military commissariat to fire in the suburbs of Yekaterinburg in protest against the war in Ukraine. Solidarity Zone Russian human rights project reports.

The organization noted that Aleksey Rozhkov became the third in the Russian Federation who set the military commissariat to fire after the invasion of the Russian army into Ukraine. He was detained and charged with «attempted murder» — allegedly there was a watchwoman in the building of the military commissariat. However, six months later, the charge was reclassified as «damage to property,» and Aleksey Rozhkov was released from the pre-trial detention center.

Against the backdrop of statements by the authorities that the arson of military commissariats should be qualified as «terrorist act», he left Russia.

According to human rights activists, the Berezovsky City Court of Sverdlovsk Oblast has resumed consideration of the criminal case against the activist.
