Gang of Kyrgyzstanis arrested in Moscow for kidnapping and extortion

A criminal group of Kyrgyzstanis was detained in Moscow, who were engaged in the kidnapping of their compatriots and extortion. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

«The representative office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan in Russia received information that a criminal group formed on an ethnic basis was operating in Moscow and the region of the same name, engaged in extortion and kidnapping of compatriots. A 37-year-old citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic filed a statement to the police on May 23. She said that unknown people had kidnapped her close relative, 25-year-old N.A. uulu, and were extorting money. The abducted man asked his relatives to transfer 150,000 rubles to him. However, his whereabouts remained unknown» the statement says.

As a result of the joint work of the Russian security forces and the representative office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, the kidnapped man was found in one of the apartments on Golovinsky highway, where he was held by force.

«Six members of a criminal group involved in kidnapping, extortion, and debt collection were detained on suspicion of committing the crime. All the detainees are citizens of Kyrgyzstan, natives of Issyk-Kul and Naryn regions: 27-year-old I.A., 28-year-old T.A. uulu, 25-year-old E.M. uulu, 23-year-old Y.B., 30-year-old Zh.R. and 22-year-old A. B. uulu,» the police reported.

During the detention, the security forces found another abductee in the apartment — 23-year-old N.D. He was also held there by force and was demanded to pay 300,000 rubles. Both abductees were beaten and threatened with a gun.

The Golovinsky Interdistrict Investigation Department initiated two criminal cases under Articles 127 Part 2 (Illegal deprivation of liberty committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, using weapons or objects used as weapons), Part 2 (Extortion committed by a group of persons by prior agreement, with the use of violence, on a large scale) and 126 of part 2 (Kidnapping of a person committed by a group of persons by prior agreement with the use of violence dangerous to life and health) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

All six were taken into custody by the court. During the investigation, another fact emerged, in which the detainees were involved. It turned out that on May 10, the criminals forcibly brought 40-year-old J.A., a native of Jalal-Abad region, to the same apartment, illegally held him, threatening with reprisal, and demanded to give 1 million rubles. A criminal case was also opened on this fact under Articles 126 Part 2 (Kidnapping) and 163 Part 2 (Extortion) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

The investigation is ongoing.
