Coup d'état case: SCNS of Kyrgyzstan reports details

Persons who planned to organize mass riots and acts of disobedience with a view to the subsequent violent seizure of power were detained. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

A criminal case was initiated based on the information received and the collected audio and video materials. Special investigative actions sanctioned by the court were carried out.

«This criminal group throughout the year purposefully recruited supporters into its ranks as well as the most disgruntled citizens across the country. The organizer and ideological inspirer is a civil activist and chairwoman of Eldik Kenesh political party N.R.S. Under her leadership, meetings were regularly held aimed at the indoctrination of the recruited persons against state structures with discussion of plans for the forcible seizure of power,» the SCNS reported.

The state committee noted that more than 100 people from various groups of society and regions of the republic were involved in the organized group, among whom roles with specific tasks were clearly distributed.

«There is information that in the near future it was expected to receive money from foreign sources to finance organizational issues and pay remuneration to key functionaries. The conspirators intended to start the active phase of the implementation of their criminal plans immediately after the emergence of discontent in society over any incident,» the state committee noted.

More than 30 members of the group were taken to the SCNS.

«N.R.S. and her main associates N.R.S., I.G.S., M.A.Zh. and D.T.A., who gave confessions, were detained. Material evidence confirming their criminal intentions was confiscated. All detainees have been placed in the temporary detention facility of the SCNS,» the state committee added.
