Firefighters of two countries hold joint exercises on Kyrgyz-Kazakh border

Rescuers from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan held joint exercises on fire extinguishing in the border zone. Press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

«The border section at the 62-65th kilometer of Bishkek — Naryn — Torugart highway was chosen as the venue for the exercises. It is wooded area divided by Chu river. There is a lot of dry grass. A gas station and fuel oil storage are located on the territory of Kyrgyzstan along the highway. There are reeds, trees and dry grass from the side of Kazakhstan. According to the scenario, the forest fire spread to the gas station in the territory of Kyrgyzstan, and then to the trees around DEU-34 enterprise,» the statement says.

Three combat crews from Chui region, a ladder truck, a fire hose truck, two water carriers, about 20 employees of the Forest Service, an ambulance brigade and a crew of the State Traffic Safety Department were involved from the side of Kyrgyzstan. Two combat crews were involved in the exercises from the Department of Emergency Situations of Zhambyl region of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kazakhstan.

The ministry notes that the event made it possible to correctly analyze the area and work out the stages of fire extinguishing. These are the third joint exercises in the border area.
