The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved in three readings the ratification of an agreement with the Government of the Maldives on mutual exemption from visa requirements. The decision was made at a meeting on Wednesday.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeenbek Kulubaev said that the Government of the Maldives proposed a visa-free regime.
«Probably, this is due to the attraction of tourists. Our citizens go there to rest. Citizens of the Maldives rarely visit our country, only 10 people came in 2022,» the official said.
The deputies also approved a visa-free regime for holders of diplomatic passports of Kyrgyzstan with Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Lebanon.
