Kazakhstan and China to introduce mutual visa-free regime

Kazakhstan and China will mutually introduce a visa-free regime for their citizens. Draft resolution of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov says.

Mutual exemption from visa requirements is provided for by an intergovernmental agreement between the two countries. Signing of the documents by the Foreign Ministers of the two states is scheduled for May 18-19 in Xi’an, China.

In accordance with the agreement, Kazakhstanis will be able to stay without a visa in the PRC, and citizens of China — in the Republic of Kazakhstan for no more than 30 days from the moment of crossing the border and 90 days for a 180-day period.

«Signing of the agreement will give impetus to strengthening close cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People’s Republic of China,» the Government of Kazakhstan notes.
