Intergovernmental negotiations are underway between three countries (Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan) on the construction of Kambarata HPP-1. The Ministry of Energy informed 24.kg news agency.
According to the ministry, preparations for the construction of the station are in full swing. Sites are being erected for the construction of bridges, laying power lines, and digging tunnels. At least 40 units of special equipment are working on the construction of a 30-kilometer road leading to the hydroelectric power station. About 7-8 kilometers is completed.
A transport tunnel with a length of 126 meters should be built. To date more than 20 specialists work. It is necessary to build a bridge connecting two banks of Naryn river. It design was prepared, and the necessary metal was ordered from Russia.
«The roadmap for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1 was signed by three states. Intergovernmental negotiations are planned as the next stage. Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are discussing plans for the future, cooperation, ways to build the hydroelectric power station. The Russian side is interested in participating in the project. We cannot yet say whether it will participate or not. This will be clear after negotiations,» the Ministry of Energy noted.
