President Sadyr Japarov visits Turkish Embassy, expresses his condolences

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov visited the Embassy of Turkey in Bishkek. Press service of the head of state reported.

Sadyr Japarov left an entry in the book of condolences, where, on behalf of the people of Kyrgyzstan and on his own behalf, he expressed support for the fraternal Turkish people. He noted that the Kyrgyz Republic shares the grief of Turkey, which is suffering from a devastating natural disaster.

«The earthquake has destroyed many buildings, and the hearts of Kyrgyzstanis mourn the thousands of Turkish brothers and sisters who became victims of this natural disaster. Your grief is our grief. The Turkish people and Turkey take a great place in our hearts. According to the tradition of our ancestors, we are always ready to support you and offer the necessary assistance, as we are connected with the Turkish people by common origins, a single history. On behalf of the Kyrgyz people and on my own behalf, I offer my deepest condolences to the families and friends of our fraternal Turkish people,» the president wrote.

Sadyr Japarov wished a speedy recovery to the injured in the earthquake.

Two earthquakes of magnitude 7.8 and 7.5 hit southern Turkey on February 6 near Gaziantep city, where more than a million people live. Dozens of aftershocks were registered in Syria, Georgia and other countries.

The Turkish Embassy in Kyrgyzstan announced collection of humanitarian aid. A single deposit account has been opened in Kyrgyzstan to raise funds to help the victims.

Kyrgyzstan sent rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to Turkey.
