Garbage sorting line launched in Saruu village, Issyk-Kul region

The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision has launched a workshop for the separate collection of waste in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. The waste sorting line is located and operates in Saruu village. Press service of the ministry reported.

The goal of the project is to remove garbage from settlements and recreation areas in Dzheti-Oguz district.

«Separate collection of waste and its processing, turning it into useful products will improve the environmental situation, which is the essence of this project. In addition, local residents are provided with jobs,» the Ministry of Natural Resources added.

The capacity of the sorting line is 2 tons of waste per day. It includes a polymer washing line, a granulation line, an agglomerator, a transformer, a circular saw, a crushing unit for crushing thick-walled polyethylene pipes.

«The technology of processing plastic waste itself is relatively new compared to the processing technologies previously used in Kyrgyzstan. Raw materials are initially cleaned by a dry method, then they go into a humid environment with an air flow, then into a wringing system with further drying and into a storage hopper,» the ministry noted.

It is planned to launch several more sorting lines on the northern shore of the lake in 2023.
