A campaign to vaccinate the adult population against hepatitis B will start in Bishkek on December 14. The Republican Center for Health Promotion reported.
According to it, Russia donated 350,000 doses of hepatitis B vaccine, 225,000 rapid tests for HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C to Kyrgyzstan. Vaccination will be carried out in Family Medicine Centers.
Hepatitis B is a common and dangerous infectious disease that affects the liver. The most effective protection against hepatitis B is vaccination.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced creation of a new center on the basis of the Republican AIDS Center, which will deal with the prevention, detection, and treatment of hepatitis.
