Rahmon announced serious progress with President of Kyrgyzstan - Lukashenko

Session of the CSTO Collective Security Council ended in Yerevan (Armenia). Belarus took over the chairmanship. In connection with this, the President of the country Alexander Lukashenko made a speech.

In particular, he dwelled on «the inner contour».

«We have other shortcomings and other conflicts that we have to resolve. As Emomali Sharipovich (President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon) said today, there is a very serious progress with the President of Kyrgyzstan. We need to resolve these conflicts if we want to be a truly responsible organization. If we cannot resolve these issues among ourselves and move forward, then I agree with you: what are we capable of then? Therefore, there are very serious steps forward in this direction,» he said.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the fundamental goals in the inner contour are to increase the cohesion of the CSTO member states, reduce the level of tension and resolve contradictions between them in order to strengthen the organization itself, ensure security and stability in its area of responsibility.

He also noted that Belarus was taking over the CSTO chairmanship during a systemic crisis in international relations. There is an unprecedented aggravation of the military-political situation on the Eurasian continent, a further polarization of approaches to a new world order issue.
