New hiking routes developed in Kyrgyzstan

Five new eco-trails have been developed in Kyrgyzstan — routes for hiking. During the season, about 100,000 people use them. The Tourism Development Support Fund in the Kyrgyz Republic reports.

«The Fund continues to equip eco-trails throughout the country. Six routes have already been marked. In addition to Arpa, unknown to mass tourists, five more trails have been equipped: Adygene (Ala-Archa tract), Boirok Birch Grove (Ala-Archa tract), Teke-Tor (Alamedin Gorge), Kok-Moinok (Tuyuk Gorge, Issyk-Ata district) and Kol-Tor (Kegety Gorge, Issyk-Ata district).

All these trails are located in Chui region, one to two hours drive from Bishkek, and are very popular among hikers — about 100,000 people walk along them a year.

Their length is from three and a half (Boirok) to 10 kilometers (Adygene), these are one-day routes. Unprepared tourists and even children can pass them. You can try out the newly marked trails right now, including two year-round trails — Boirok and Teke-Tor,» the statement says.

All routes now have info navigation — information about the approximate time that the trail will take, intermediate points and the distance between them, about the height at which they are located. All information is available in three languages - Kyrgyz, English and Russian. The trails are marked, there are signs for correct movement along the entire trail. The next step will be the digitalization of the trails — the possibility of obtaining more detailed information about the route using a QR code.

In addition to the already marked six trails, four more will be added in the near future — in Chychkan, Tamga, Barskoon and Sokuluk gorge (Belogorka).

Next year, at least 20 marked routes will appear in all regions of the Kyrgyz Republic. At first, these will be one-day trails, and then those that require more time and serious skills. If the pilot project is successful, in the future it is planned to mark all existing trails in the country, including little-known ones.
