A decision was approved at a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, simplifying the procedure for issuing residence permits to foreign citizens who have made a contribution to the economy of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
«The decision was developed in order to increase the inflow of foreign direct investment and improve the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyzstan. The term for consideration of materials on issuing temporary residence permits to foreign citizens, who have contributed more than 10 million soms to the economy of Kyrgyzstan, is being shortened. At the same time, a residence permit for a foreign citizen (with the exception of citizens of countries bordering the Kyrgyz Republic), who has invested more than 10 million soms in the economy, will be issued without mandatory residence for at least 6 months before filing the application,» the statement says.
It is noted that according to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on external migration, a temporary residence permit can be issued to a foreign citizen or stateless person who arrived in the republic for a period of more than 6 months, who has a legal source of subsistence:
— To work under an employment contract together with a work permit;
— To study at the request of an educational institution;
— To carry out investment activities in Kyrgyzstan on the basis of an application submitted by the authorized state body for investment promotion.
