Investigators of the Criminal Investigation Department detained a former employee of the Financial Police, who extorted a large amount of money and real estate from an entrepreneur from Batken region. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
«In early October, a resident of Batken region turned to the Investigation Service with a request to take action against a man who, since May, threatening with blackmail and physical violence, has been extorting 3 million soms from her. A criminal case was opened,» the statement said.
Employees of the department for suppression of illegal financing of organized crime groups took the suspect under control. Over time, the extortionist started demanding from the applicant not only money, but also two apartments in Bishkek.
The detainee is a repeatedly convicted 47-year-old native of Batken region, a former employee of the Financial Police. The suspect was placed in the pretrial detention center of the Central Internal Affairs Directorate of the capital. The investigation is ongoing.
