Miners have repeatedly complained about Full Gold Mining company, which is developing Ishtamberdy field. They were not provided with proper working and housing conditions. The First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technological Supervision, Kanat Sadykov, told at a press conference in Bishkek
«In recent years, the system of state environmental control has hit the rock bottom. We are now fully restoring it. The latest cases show that the State Ecological and Technical Inspectorate did not fully exercise control,» Sadykov concluded.
He noted that a special commission had been set up on the fact of the death of the miners, which was investigating the causes of the gas leak. After the completion of the work of the commission, detailed information on the cause of death of employees will be announced.
24-year-old worker died during a gas leak in the mine on October 11. Later, the Ministry of Health reported the death of another miner and ten injured. The second victim was 36 years old.
