Vladimir Putin made a speech on Friday at the first Central Asia + Russia summit in Astana. TASS reports.
According to the news agency, Putin announced attempts from the outside to interfere with ties between Russia and the countries of Central Asia.
«The increasingly complicated situation in the world and in the region is also pushing us to activate all the mechanisms of interaction between us. [There are] attempts from the outside to hinder the development of our cooperation with you in many areas, to disrupt the honest ties and close interaction that have developed throughout history in politics, the economy, and the humanitarian sphere,» the head of the Russian state said.
He noted that truly coordinated joint steps by the countries of the region and the Russian Federation are now in great demand both to build up alliance and strategic partnership, and to increase the stability of the economies.
