Invasion of Kyrgyzstan: 164 injured, death toll does not change

According to the latest data, the total number of victims of the armed conflict admitted to healthcare organizations is 164 people, 20 were sent for outpatient treatment. The Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Gulnara Baatyrova, told today at a press conference.

These are 12 children, 129 men and 13 women. At least 42 victims are being treated in the healthcare facilities in Batken region, 102 people have been transferred to healthcare organizations in Bishkek and Osh. Including 71 victims are in the National Hospital, 8 — in the National Surgical Center, 8 — in the National Mother and Child Welfare Center, 9 — in the Emergency Hospital, 4 — in the Osh Regional Combined Hospital and 2 — in the Osh Interregional Children’s Clinical Hospital.

«The necessary medical care is provided to all of them; blood components, medicines and medical products are available in sufficient quantities,» Gulnara Baatyrova said.

The total number of deaths as a result of the armed conflict in Batken region remains unchanged — 59 people.

Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 163 victims, 59 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.

By the decree of the President Sadyr Japarov, September 19, 2022 was declared a Day of National Mourning in the Kyrgyz Republic.
