President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov met with the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif as part of a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Samarkand (Republic of Uzbekistan).
The leaders of the countries exchanged views on topical issues of bilateral cooperation. Sadyr Japarov noted strengthening of political dialogue, development of trade, strengthening of cooperation in various sectors in the Kyrgyz-Pakistani relations. He stressed the need to expand cooperation between countries in trade, investment, energy, industry, education and medicine.
The PM of Pakistan expressed gratitude for the support and empathy of the Pakistani people in connection with the recent large-scale floods that caused many casualties. In this regard, he noted the importance of taking action, especially at the international level, in order to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and prevent irreversible consequences due to climate change.
Shehbaz Sharif proposed to carry out even more focused work with all countries, including the Central Asian region, to ensure measures to protect the environment.
He invited Sadyr Japarov to visit Islamabad.
