Illegally mined gold was taken out from a deposit in Chatkal district, Jalal-Abad region of Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.
It was found out that O.T. company, while carrying out its activities on development of the deposit, violated the boundaries of the licensed area for gold mining. Later this area was used as a parking lot for heavy vehicles. Thus, the company caused environmental and economic damage to the state.
An attempt to transport and sell illegally mined gold by employees of O.T. without accounting and paying the corresponding payments was also detected and suppressed.
Employees of the State Committee for National Security stopped a Lexus GX 470 at Sosnovka control post on Friday. It was traveling from Chatkal to Bishkek. The head of the company and his employees, transporting about 1.5 kilograms of illegally mined gold, were in the car.
Investigation is ongoing.
