At least 594 organizations operated in the financial sector of the economy of Kyrgyzstan in the first half of 2022. Such data are provided by the National Statistical Committee.
The total income of organizations in the financial sector of the economy in January-June 2022 amounted to 46.1 billion soms. Compared to the same period last year, it increased 1.5 times. This is due to a growth of incomes in the banking sector. The expenses of financial sector organizations in the same period amounted to 27.7 billion soms and increased by 37 percent.
According to the results of the first half of 2022, some 66 percent of enterprises made a profit, and 13.5 percent made a loss. As a result, net profit amounted to 18.4 billion soms, which is 1.8 times more than in 2021.
Profit growth was provided by commercial banks (by 6.5 billion soms) and the National Bank (by 1.7 billion soms), which is due to an increase in their income from foreign exchange transactions.
The total volume of the open loan portfolio of banks and non-banking financial and credit organizations as of July 1, 2022 amounted to more than 217 billion soms. The banking sector accounted for 86 percent of the total volume of loans, the sector of non-banking financial and credit organizations — 14 percent. The main areas of lending were trade (25.6 percent of the total), agriculture (20 percent), consumer needs (17 percent), mortgage (10 percent) and construction (7 percent).
