Russia cuts diesel exports amid rising prices

Oil traders are concerned about the reduction in exports of diesel fuel by Russian refineries amidst rising prices. The Antimonopoly Regulation Service reports.

The head of the service Keneshbai Tailakov held a meeting with oil traders of the republic — major operators of the fuels and lubricants market to discuss topical issues: prices, supplies, problem points, further measures to smooth out prices in this market.

According to oil traders, since the beginning of the year, an increase in selling prices for diesel fuel has been registered at $600 per ton, for AI 92 gasoline — $370 per ton. Over the past month, the increase in wholesale selling prices at Russian refineries for diesel fuel amounted to $300 per ton.

Oil traders report a forced need to increase domestic prices for diesel fuel.

As a result of the meeting, a set of measures was developed, proposals were sent to the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. In addition, oil traders are recommended to take all possible measures to contain prices, adjust their pricing policy, provide the necessary reserves to saturate the fuel and lubricants market and prevent a shortage of petroleum products, as well as to step up control and prevent infringement of consumer rights due to underfilling of fuels and lubricants at gas stations.
