The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, speaking at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, stated the need to consolidate joint efforts to ensure the economic and financial stability of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and proposed a number of priority measures within this work.
According to him, in the near future, it is necessary to introduce mechanisms to minimize the risks of a shortage of socially significant food products in the internal market of the EAEU. He also outlined the need for accelerated restoration of broken cooperation business chains.
«To date, clothing and textile products manufactured in Kyrgyzstan are not inferior in quality and design to well-known manufacturers of branded clothing. There are enterprises that are ready to participate in projects for the production of organic baby food, development of mechanical engineering, production of elevator equipment and its components. Therefore, the decision we are making today to establish a commission for cooperation and import substitution in priority and high-tech industries within the framework of the EAEU is very timely,» said Akylbek Japarov.
The head of the Cabinet also spoke in favor of strengthening the stability of financial markets and economies of the member countries to external shocks and creating conditions for the effective mobilization and investment of financial resources.
«To achieve this goal, it is proposed to launch the Eurasian initiative of the bond market with quotations in national currencies. As part of the initiative, a bond fund can also be established, half of financial resources of which will be invested in bonds in the national currencies of the EAEU countries. In addition, under the auspices of this initiative, it is possible to launch a guarantee agency for issuers of bonds in the national currency,» Akylbek Japarov concluded.
