Restrictions on supply of agricultural products imposed in EAEU countries

«Today, due to objective reasons, there are restrictions on the supply of certain types of agricultural products on the common agricultural market,» the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

According to him, in the context of modern economic challenges, one of the tasks is to ensure the food security of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. At the same time, problems with the supply of agricultural products may adversely affect the agricultural market of the countries and, in general, the food supply of the Union.

«Therefore, the EAEU countries need to counteract risks on a collective basis. The likelihood of food shortages should be minimized. I consider it important to remove obstacles in mutual trade, form new export-import logistics chains, develop import substitution and improve business conditions. The experience of recent years shows that a significant part of the obstacles is the result of uniform and agreed rules of work. Only readiness for cooperation, dialogue can help maintain positive dynamics in this issue,» Nikol Pashinyan noted.

He also spoke in favor of regulating the alcohol market of the EAEU, establishing uniform measures and the absence of restrictions and exemptions in mutual trade. In addition, the Prime Minister of Armenia advocated the formation of a goods traceability system using navigation seals and mutual recognition of electronic digital signatures.
