Bakyt Asanbaev, the former deputy chairman of Aiyl Bank OJSC, who was detained on suspicion of corruption, hanged himself in the remand prison of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS). Own sources in law enforcement agencies informed 24.kg news agency.
«It is known that Bakyt Asanbaev was detained in April. His labor contract with Aiyl Bank expired and a new one was not signed,» the sources said.
The criminal case on the fact of corruption was initiated in February. Employees of Aiyl Bank OJSC were also detained then.
According to investigators, the stable corruption scheme that the bank set up consisted in lobbying the interests of commercial entities when issuing loans.
