A criminal drug group was detained in Kyrgyzstan, one of the participants of which was an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
«Employees of the State Service on Drug Control of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic stopped activities of a transnational drug trafficking group engaged in the transit and sale of large quantities of drugs of Afghan origin from Tajikistan to Kyrgyzstan and further to Kazakhstan. The criminal organization consisted of several structural divisions, the functions of which were clearly determined. The drug dealers carefully observed the secrecy measures and underwent special training,» the statement says.
"All members of the transnational group have been detained. Drugs weighing 33,241 grams were seized: 11,299 grams of opium and 21,942 grams of hashish.
The detainees were placed in pre-trial detention center No. 1 in Bishkek. The investigation is ongoing.
