By the decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Bakytzhan Sagintaev was appointed a new member of the Board (Minister) of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) from Kazakhstan on June 1. Press service of the EEC reported.
His scope of duties will include development of business activities, financial policy, labor migration and social protection in the Eurasian Economic Union.
Bakytzhan Sagintaev was the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan from 2016 to 2019, and then the presidential chief of staff of Kazakhstan and the mayor of Almaty.
Earlier it became known that Arzybek Kozhoshev, the first deputy chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, received a position in the EEC. He will become the Minister in charge of Energy and Infrastructure instead of Temirbek Asanbekov.
