Bishkek City Council proposes to cancel moratorium on installation of billboards

The Bishkek City Council proposes to cancel the moratorium on the installation of billboards. A deputy Kazybek Ergeshov said at a session today.

The Bishkek City Council is discussing the issue of extending the moratorium on the lease of land for various purposes. It is known that at the suggestion of the Bishkek City Council the list of streets, to which the moratorium applies, was significantly reduced from 57 to 34.

Kazybek Ergeshov noted that the moratorium on the installation of LED screens is also lifted. «They say there will be no restrictions on them. Let’s then include advertisement panels, billboards,» he suggested.

In turn, MP Maksatbek Alymbekov raised the issue of safety of such constructions. «According to some information, many of them are not commissioned. Safety must be observed. If it falls, who will be responsible?» he asked.
