On the eve of the fourth regional dialogue of national security advisers / secretaries of Security Councils on Afghanistan issues, Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan Marat Imankulov held bilateral meetings with Assistant to the President — Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov and Secretary of the Security Council of Tajikistan Nasrullo Mahmudzoda.
According to the press service of the head of the Kyrgyz Republic, at a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart, Marat Imankulov stated the need to further deepen relations between the secretariats/offices and law enforcement agencies of both countries in countering modern challenges and threats to ensure the security and stability of the Central Asian region as a whole, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in particular.
At a meeting with the colleague from Tajikistan, the parties discussed issues of preventing incidents and conflict situations on the state border, strengthening confidence building measures both between law enforcement agencies and the local population in the border areas, as well as joint steps to combat terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking in the context of the Afghan problem.
