Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan agree on prevention of traffic jams at border

The Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan agreed to solve the problem of long queues at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border. The head of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, announced during a joint statement.

According to him, the countries intend to fulfill the previously reached agreements on the passage of goods across the border. «An agreement has been reached on the issues of cargo transportation and prevention of traffic jams at the border,» Sadyr Japarov said.

The President noted that the meeting with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was fruitful.

«We made commitments to the Governments to increase the trade turnover to $2 billion, to resume the work of the Council of Kyrgyz-Kazakh Entrepreneurs, to develop mechanisms for freight transportation across borders. We discussed issues on air, rail and land transportation of passengers and cargo,» Sadyr Japarov told.
