Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed a number of topical issues of bilateral cooperation and prospects for its development at a meeting in a narrow format. Press service of the head of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
According to it, Sadyr Japarov congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the fraternal Kazakh people on the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries, adding that he considers it his personal duty to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan.
He noted that the comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, based on mutual understanding and support, is constantly deepening.
President Sadyr Japarov expressed hope that today’s meeting would be a good opportunity to determine the prospects for further development of cooperation.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stressed that Kyrgyzstan is a God-given neighbor and closest ally of Kazakhstan, and the Kyrgyz people have been the closest to the Kazakh people since ancient times.
He noted that over the 30 years of establishing diplomatic relations, friendly ties between the countries have strengthened, a political dialogue and interstate and inter-parliamentary ties have been established.
The President of Kazakhstan arrived in Bishkek on an official visit today. The meeting of the heads of state takes place at Ala-Archa 1 state residence.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev paid a state visit to Kyrgyzstan in November 2019.
