Oleg Popikov has been appointed the First Vice Mayor of Bishkek instead of Zhamalbek Yrsaliev. The City Hall informed 24.kg news agency.
Zhamalbek Yrsaliev, who previously held the position of Vice Mayor in charge of housing and communal services, has been appointed a director of Bishkekteploenergo utility company.
In turn, the former head of the enterprise, Azamat Omorov, was relieved of his post on the basis of a letter of resignation. Oleg Popikov was appointed to the post of Vice Mayor.
The relevant orders were signed by the Mayor of the capital Emilbek Abdykadyrov.
Oleg Popikov had been the Vice Mayor since June 2013, and left his post in November 2014. Since July 2021, he has been a deputy of the Bishkek City Council, a member of Onuguu-Progress faction.
