Situation in Ukraine: Sadyr Japarov calls the developments a war

Not only the West, but also other countries declare that there can be no neutrality in the issue of Ukraine, they demand to voice position on the situation. The President Sadyr Japarov said in an interview, commenting on the position of Kyrgyzstan.

He is sure that the Ukrainians and Russians will someday find a common language.

«Not only Western states are talking about the impossibility of staying neutral, but others are demanding to take a stand. It is possible (Neutral position. —Note of 24.kg news agency). The two peoples will find a common language some time. We had lived with both countries for 70 years as part of the USSR, as one family and shared the same bread,» the head of state said.

He called the events in Ukraine a war.

«What is happening is a tragedy for all of us. People die on both sides. It would be nice, if there was no war. These two sides had the opportunity to prevent war, but because of intermediaries who gave incorrect information, this war began. They misled the presidents of both states. Provocateurs are intensifying the confrontation. If instead there were calls to fulfill the terms of the Minsk agreement, this war will not happen. The Minsk agreements were signed not only by Russia and Ukraine, but also by Germany and France,» Sadyr Japarov said.

He stressed that Kyrgyzstan, as a small country, cannot influence the situation in Ukraine. «If we support one side, will they win?» the president added.

Earlier, the Kyrgyz authorities declared neutrality on the issue of the situation in Ukraine.
